03 · At the bench
Where food waste is separated: at the bench, as it happens
To make loading the Pulpmaster easy and hassle free, food and liquid waste is collected at the bench in 23-litre caddies. Off-cuts go straight into the caddy and, once full, straight into the machine. Benches stay clean and clear, and food waste never enters a bin liner.
Simple to move, hard to overfill
A caddy is simple to manoeuvre but difficult to overfill, which significantly reduces the risk of lifting injury. Organics collection trolleys carry several caddies at once from outlets to the machine, so one trip replaces many, and clear organics-only labelling keeps contamination out.
Our customers tell us the caddy system is what makes separation stick in a busy kitchen. It improves efficiency, makes it easier to place food waste in the machine, and keeps benches clean and clear. It is supplied with every Pulpmaster installation.
Why it works
What the caddy changes in a kitchen
Less lifting injury
Too small to overfill, so no one carries a bag heavier than they should.
Cleaner benches
Off-cuts go straight in as they are made, not into a pile or a bag.
No bin liners
Food waste never enters a plastic bag, so there are none to buy or leak.
Fewer trips
A trolley carries several caddies to the machine in one run.
Low contamination
Organics-only labelling keeps cutlery, packaging and glass out.
Better hygiene
Nothing sits in an open bin attracting vermin or fruit fly.
Compare
The caddy feeds the machine. Which machine?
Caddies feed the 6100 in a single commercial kitchen. On shared sites, tenants use small mobile bins into the Hercules instead. Compare all three side by side, or answer four questions and we will recommend a setup.
